Digital Learning Night at the library!

Drop in to Digital Learning Night at the Caroline County Public Library in Denton for a technology open house and learn all about the technology your local school system and library have to offer.  

Stop by on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 6:30-8:30pm and enjoy hands-on STEM activities, demos of 3-D printers and the library’s Music Lab, and much more! Have you ever wanted to try out the latest Virtual Reality headsets? We will have Oculus, Vive, and other headsets available for you to play with!

Refreshments will be provided by the Caroline County Culinary Arts Program. Program brought to you through a partnership of Caroline County Public Schools and Caroline County Public Library.

Summer Reading fun continues at the Caroline County Public Library

The summer fun continues with great free programs at all three Caroline County Public Library locations.

• Kids get to join the fun when The Uncle Devin Show, whose mission is to convey universal principles of love through their live music experiences, presents “Journey through the Land of Percussion,” in two locations! Thursday, July 7 at 11am at the North County Greensboro Branch and again at 2pm at the Federalsburg Branch.
• The Bright Star Touring Theatre presents “Aesop’s Fables” on Monday, July 11 at 11am at the Central Library in Denton. From The Fox and the Grapes to the The Lion and the Mouse, these animal-filled adventures focus on honesty, compassion, hard work and kindness.
• Kids age 5-8 and their caregivers are invited to get in the Olympic spirit with Library Olympics! Test your skills in a variety of events based on favorite nursery rhymes, fairy tales and books. This program will be offered at the Federalsburg Branch on Wednesday, July 6 at 10:30am (call 410-754-8397 to register) and at the North County Greensboro Branch on Thursday, July 14 at 10:30am (register at 410-482-2173).

On Your Mark, Get Set, Read! Summer Reading kicks off at the Caroline County Public Library

• Magic comes to the library on June 16, 2016 as Mike Rose brings his “SPORT-acular Magic” presentation.
• Don’t miss the exciting dancing warriors of Capoeira is Culture: Dance and Martial Arts from Brazil on June 21, 2016.
• The Blue Sky Puppet Theatre presents “Bananas” on June 23, 2016. Join the fun; these puppets encourage audience participation!

Each of these programs will be held at the Central Library in Denton at 11:00am. No registration necessary.

Free Library Movie Night! “Zootopia” at Library in Federalsburg

Cheer on Officer Judy Hopps, the first bunny on Zootopia’s police force, as she jumps at the chance to crack her first case – even if it means partnering with a scam-artist fox to solve the mystery.

Disney fans of all ages are invited to the Caroline County Public Library in Federalsburg to watch Zootopia (PG) on Friday, June 10 at 6pm.

Explore Space at the library!

Star gazers of all ages are invited to learn how to build a powerful working telescope through a detailed description at this presentation, with illustrations and photographs describing the entire process A-Z. It’s so easy a 3rd grader can do it!

Following the presentation, view the Moon, the rings of Saturn and other beautiful objects in the night sky, weather permitting, with a telescope just like the one you can build.

This free program will be held at the Caroline County Public Library’s North County Branch in Greensboro on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 6-9pm.

The Bellas are back, and they are aca-awesome! Teens ages 13-17 are invited to come to Teen Movie Night at the Caroline County Public Library in Federalsburg. We’ll watch Pitch Perfect 2 (PG-13), snack on popcorn and sweet treats, and see the Bellas compete in an international competition. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Comes to Caroline County!

Celebrate the kick-off of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Caroline County on October 31, 2015 10am-noon, at the Caroline County Public Library’s Central Library in Denton. Join us for snacks and crafts at 10am and then watch the Blue Sky Puppet Theatre perform their puppet show, “The Three Not-So-Little Pigs Meet the Halloween Witch,” at 11am.

Imagination Library will send a FREE BOOK in the mail every month until your child’s fifth birthday! You can register your child for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at any branch of the Caroline County Public Library, or online at www.imaginationlibrary.com. Calling all Whovians…Dr. Who Night for all ages at the Library!

Jump in your TARDIS, put on your bowtie and head over to the Caroline County Public Library’s Central Library in Denton for a night of Dr. Who fun!

Fans of all ages are invited to enjoy Dr. Who-themed food, play trivia games, watch an episode and win prizes on October 23 at 7:00pm.

So don’t hide behind the sofa! “Do what I do. Hold tight and pretend it’s a plan,” and bring the whole family to the library for some wibbly wobbly, time-y wimey fun.

Free “Money Talks” financial empowerment program for women at the library

Are you in charge of your money? Do you want to be? Empower yourself!

Join UMD educator, Melissa Leiden Welsh, for a series of “Money Talks” to be held on four Thursday evenings at the Caroline County Public Library’s Central Library in Denton. Topics include credit reports, ID theft and protection, budget basics and small steps to saving/investing.
