Denton Little League Prepares for 2014 Season with Opening Day Raffle

Denton Little League
Denton, MD
March 2014

Denton Little League is making preparations for the 2014 season. As it does every year, raising the funds to keep the league functioning weighs heavily on the minds of all of the volunteers. This year, the league decided to have one major fundraiser, their Opening Day Raffle. Winners will be drawn on Opening Day, April 12th at the Denton Little League Park.

“Little League is the largest organized youth sports program in the world, more than 2.4 million children participate each year. The role of Denton Little League is to provide the young men and women a positive team experience that teaches teamwork, sportsmanship and responsibility,” stated Mike Rorabaugh, President of Denton Little League. He then added, “Costs associated with league fees, uniforms, equipment, maintenance, and utilities are just some of the expenses a successful league is responsible for. Help from the community is needed and that is why it is so important to support our league by purchasing raffle tickets and have the opportunity to win some great prizes!”

Unlike other fundraisers, Denton Little League will receive 100% of all proceeds from ticket sales to offset all of the many expenses they face each year. This raffle would not be possible if not for the support and generosity of the businesses that donated the prizes.

Tickets are currently on sale. Each ticket is $5 and can be purchased from players and volunteers. Prizes include a Kindle Fire HD donated by Jimmie & Sook’s Raw Bar and Grill in Cambridge, a 2 night stay at Francis Scott Key Family Resort in Ocean City, a moon bounce rental from Tents 4 Rent Inc., Washington Nationals tickets, autographed baseballs, Delmarva Shorebirds tickets & merchandise, gift cards from Market Street Public House, Giant Food, Papa John’s Pizza, Hoppin’ Good Time Rentals & Inflatable Fun Center, Triton Movies, 404 Auto Repair, Earth Origins Market & more!

Please show your support for Denton Little League and purchase a raffle ticket or two. You just might win an awesome prize, and you’ll know that your hard earned money was spent on a very worthy cause. Winners will be drawn on April 12th, but do not need to be present to win. However, you shouldn’t miss the Opening Day Parade in downtown Denton that begins at 11 am, followed by all of the Opening Day festivities at the Little League Park throughout the day.

For more information, please email dentonlittleleague@gmail.com or call Jannelle Bramble at (443) 205-5036. Thank you for your support!
