This coming Wednesday the first meeting of Governor O’Malley’s committee on redistricting will be meeting in Annapolis. Their charge is to draft Maryland’s legislative and congressional redistricting plan.
Should one of the factors to consider is that each county should have a Resident Delegate. As the districts are presently divided a few of the Eastern Shore counties, including Caroline, could have their representative to the Maryland Legislature live outside of their county.
Caroline presently does not have a Resident Delegate.
An article at the Daily Times website, talks about this and thinks that part of the redistricting conversation should be based on having a Resident Delegate for each County.

Even though there are many similarities with each of the counties on the Eastern Shore, they all have their own unique personalities. And it would seem that each county should have at least one of their own to vote in Annapolis.
